So I've been trying to figure out all week what to do for Halloween.

Then I found out that it was Wonder Woman Weekend, and I decided I also wanted to come up with something for that.

Then yesterday afternoon everything meshed together into a Victorian inspired Wonder Woman and I decided that that sort of fit the criteria for both.

So I ran with it.

Didn't manage to post in time for it to be a legitimate Halloween post though.

Though, I really wish they could've done more with the 'Pretender' concept. Alice was so one dimensional and brief. It really glossed over what have been some great psychological delving.

I am quite proud of myself.

I did this for a contest over at Sketchoholic, but due to my inability to read international time zones, I missed the closing time.
Much disappointment.

But hey, he turned out pretty well.

...I don't know why I draw half the stuff I do.

Which leads me to this.
This was one of those projects, that I jumped into half thinking I've seen the basic concept before.
But am completely unable to figure out where from.
It drives me INSANE.

Especially given that, I'd really like to not step on someone's toes creatively.

And this happens to me all the time.

Not the stepping on toes.

But the suspicion that I'm simply recalling something I'd seen before and can't remember.
All the time.

There was a happy ending this time around, tho'.
An hour after I finished this I was flipping through my favorite music videos on the youtube and landed on She Wants Revenge.
And in a flash of long archived memory retrieval, I remembered the cover art of their Save Your Soul Single.

Which is where this comes from.

HAH!

I don't have complete early onset Alzheimer's!

Having been fortunate enough to have visited Japan in past years, the tragedy in March and its relief efforts have spurred me into action. This five piece postcard set was made using pictures taken on my most recent trip in 2009 and represents only a handful of experiences this multifaceted country holds.

I'm saddened to hear of the passing of the brilliantly talented and genuinely nice Clement Sauve.

I was lucky enough years ago to attend a workshop he presented at SCAD. Not only was I struck by the crisp beauty of his work, but also the quiet confidence and humility he carried himself with.

It is truly upsetting that he has been taken so early on in what was such a promising life.

Basically, this is a response piece to a contest for the James and Giant Peach DVD release. The premise being, 'where we go when we escape.'
So, that's technically a little me in there.

I usually save this format for the journal stuffs. But it seemed so well suited for this one.

Con news.
I went.
It was so, so good.
Best one I ever attended. (Oh, and I did end up attending.)
And I think that may be due in part that I only went Friday.
My theory is, Thursdays are good to beat the crowds, but you miss the chance of running into people you know.
Fridays are better because it's just crowded enough to get you amped, but not so crowded you can't run into friends, and you can still move around freely. (Sort of. In the television and movies section this is still debatable).

Saturdays, however, become an urban survivalist's obstacle course.
It's just too many people.
You become lodged in certain aisles.
You can't find your friends.
You might not even be able to breathe.
And then the stuff starts selling out.

This is what makes people ravenous and desperate.
And I can do without.

As for Sunday.
Okay crowds, bargains aplenty. But it's a gamble since the things you may really want may be sold out.

So Friday is the perfect day.
And I loved it.

As for other news.
I have a number of projects in the works.
So check back now and again.
Sooner or later, I'll have something really awesome to say.

Due to recent circumstances, I now find myself unexpectedly heading to San Diego ComiCon.
(I'm not actually going to ComiCon, but that's beside the point)

So my query is this, great readers:
Who amongst you is willing to provide me floorspace in their hotel room for my brief stay in San Diego?
And is it possible that any one of you driving there, will be passing through Arizona, and arriving before 7pm on Thursday?

Such short notice I know.
And in the back of my head all I keep hearing is myself telling people over and over again that I wasn't going.

But I am now.
So if you have hotel space, I am very willing to shell out the money and maybe even a meal.
And if I'm super lucky, one of you will be driving my way on the road over.
